In 1972 Ireland hosted the European surfing championships for the first time. While the completion conditions were not ideal, the surfari which followed has gone down in history as one of the most fun road trips of all time where some of Ireland’s top surfing locations were discovered by the group of teams as they made their way from Co. Clare to Co. Donegal.
